I want you to know that I care.
I care about gun violence. I care about the changes made to Roe v. Wade by the SCOTUS. I care about racial equality. I care about safety in schools. I care about the war in Ukraine. I care about the LGBTQ+ community. I care about people with disabilities. I care about mental health. I care about the spread of viruses and disease in the world. I care about the economy, inflation and taxes. I care about the constitution, morals and the social fabric of the United States of America. I care about you too, O Canada!
I am also not the only one in MERGE who cares. Our Senior Leadership Team at MERGE cares as well. And, most importantly, you care too.
Many of you have voiced your individual opinions on these matters both publicly and privately. It’s inevitable that in an organization as diverse as ours, there are going to be conversations that will be polarizing. During these discussions, it’s important that we are mindful that our individual opinions about these matters may differ from each other. It’s also important to recognize that each of us may prioritize these issues differently. I ask that all of us at MERGE set a good example by engaging in these dialogs in a civil, respectful and inclusive manner. Please keep in mind that our diversity of perspectives is one of our greatest strengths.
We understand that these trying times are stressful to many of you. At MERGE, we are committed to supporting the health and safety of our employees and their families. Let's watch out for each other. Let's give each other space. And let's back each other up as needed. Simple acts of kindness and support go a long way.
While we at MERGE are neither responsible for writing the laws nor righting all of the wrongs in the world, I believe that we can make a difference. Our purpose of promoting Health, Wealth and Happiness in the world has never been more relevant and more needed than ever. Thank you for all that you do to advance our purpose each day.
